This calculator is built for Dollar General's newer touchscreen registers, which most stores now have. Older registers take some coupons off differently, so your total there may not match.
How to tell: newer registers have a touchscreen, and the receipt lists all the coupons together near the bottom. On an older register, each coupon prints right under its item. Not sure? Ask the cashier, or check an old receipt from that store.
Step 1
Your Items
Step 2
Every offer and coupon on this trip, grouped by type. Tap a tag on an item to open its coupon.
Instant Savings / Offers
Sales and the deals listed under Offers in the DG app or the weekly ad. Give each one a name so they're easy to tell apart.
$ off, like "$3 off when you spend $15 on toilet paper": it comes off every time you reach the spend amount. Leave "When you spend" blank for a simple sale, like $1 off laundry pods.
Buy some, get some, like buy 1 get 1 free, buy 2 get 1 50% off, or buy 1 get 1 for $1: the lowest-priced items in each set are the ones that come off.
Mix and match, like 3 qualifying Gain items for $15: tap every item that qualifies. Each full set rings up at the deal price, and extras ring up at their regular price. For one item, like 3 for $16 on the same item, use "+ Multi-buy price for this item" on the item instead.
These come off before the $5 off $25 is counted, so a free item doesn't count toward it.
DG Store Coupons
In the DG app, these say DG STORE on the coupon.
Example: the circled tag means it's a DG store coupon.
Dollar General store coupons you've clipped in the DG app. They say DG STORE at the bottom of the coupon, even when the top says DIGITAL COUPON. Each item can take one. Every DG store coupon comes off before the $5 off $25, so you need to spend that much more to reach it. With $1 off laundry pods you need $26, and with $5 off $30 detergent you need $30.
Just the item ($1 off laundry pods): comes off that item.
A spend amount ($5 off $30 detergent): comes off once you spend that much on the picked items.
A number of items ($3 off 3): comes off once you have that many of the picked items.
A price for a number of items (3 for $10): type how many and the price, and the calculator works out the savings. The items can be different products, like 3 qualifying detergents. Buying more than one of the same item? Tap it, then pick how many count.
Buy some, get some (B1G1 coupon): the cheapest item in the set is the free one. Both items still count toward the spend coupon.
Manufacturer Coupons
In the DG app, these say MANUFACTURER on the coupon. Paper coupons go here too.
Example: the circled tag means it's a manufacturer coupon.
Paper or digital mfr coupons. Digital ones say MANUFACTURER at the bottom of the coupon in the DG app. They come off your total at the end, like a payment. Each item can take one.
For a coupon like $2 off any 2 ice cream boxes, set "Items needed" to 2. Buying more than one of the same item? Tap it, then pick how many count.
For a coupon written as a price, like 3 for $10, or a buy 1 get 1 free coupon, change "Type of coupon" and the calculator works out the savings.
DG Cash Back
In the DG app, these say CASH BACK at the top of the coupon.
Example: cash back offers say CASH BACK at the top of the coupon.
Cash back offers clipped in the DG app. They don't take money off at the register. You should get it back within 48 hours, and it shows in your myDG Wallet in the DG app. If an item has a cash back offer and a mfr coupon, DG uses the cash back first, so the mfr coupon won't come off.
Next Purchase Rewards
For deals like "Spend $30 on a brand's products, save $8 on your next purchase". Nothing comes off today. The calculator shows when you've spent enough to earn the $8 coupon for next time.
Spend Coupons
Tap every spend coupon you've clipped in the DG app. Only one works per transaction, and the register uses the lowest one you qualify for.
The spend is counted after sale prices, instant savings and DG coupons. Manufacturer coupons are a form of payment, so they don't lower it.
